Wouldn’t you love to create a chocolate-free zone? Then why not treat them to an alternative gift this Easter which will save their teeth and as keep your spring-cleaned house spotless.
The healthier options we have on offer will not ruin anyone’s appetite (although it also means adults can’t indulge in naughty treats either unless you buy your own!)
One of our popular gifts this spring is the personalised Easter bunny .This cute bunny makes a great Easter present which can be embroidered with the child's name or message of up to 50 characters. Available in Blue or Pink, it is great value at £17.99.
If you have a little girl who adores fairies, then we have the ideal gift. The Wish Fairy comes with stars in her hair and has instructions on how to make a fairy wish. For a mere £8, this is an Easter gift your precious princess can treasure for years.
For those who have managed to spruce up the kids’ bedrooms, let them enjoy their private haven and make it a room to be proud of. We can make a personalised door plaque (£16) in any colour featuring a choice of fairies, mermaids, cheeky monsters or wizards. All they need to do is keep their bedrooms tidy before you treat them to one!
If your kids are fans of proper eggs (the healthy kind) then why not opt for a personalised egg cup and spoon presented in a lovely gift box (£17.99); the egg cup can be engraved with up to 15 characters and a gift box supplied. Perfect for treasuring for years to come, or use for the occasional posh breakfast!
And before Dad starts grumbling about being left out, we do have an interesting gift option for him. It is more expensive than chocolate (but lasts a whole lot longer) and will finally give him that trendy look you’ve all been waiting for – the Dog Tag Necklace (£80).
This is a personalised, handmade, bespoke jewellery range which is created from silver that has been recycled from photographic film. It is extracted through a process that Mitsubishi Materials Inc. developed. It is ground into fine particles, mixed with an organic binder, then fired in a kiln. After firing it is .999 fine silver.... the finest silver you can buy. Now that’s a gift fit for a king. We do them for Queens too!
By purchasing and owning a Mummy or Daddy Tag necklace, you are also doing your bit to help protect the world's natural resources as it is eco-friendly, too.
Each tag is unique and handcrafted personally and is one of the first ranges for new parents to actually include Dad.
If Dad is going to get a posh gift instead of an Easter egg, it’s only fair that mum gets the same treatment in the shape of a Personalised 'Mummy' Bracelet (£60).
Hand crafted with pink Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls and sterling silver letter cubes spelling 'Mummy', it also has a sterling silver double-sided photo charm to hold two of your favourite photos.
After a hugely successful few days at The Baby Show, the company has gone from strength to strength and is already working on new ideas for next year. At the moment they are top secret, but watch this space!
In the meantime, you can continue to buy innovative gifts for those who appreciate imaginative gifts.
EASTER ACTIVITIES
Five things to do with your children – to take their mind off chocolate!
Make them a beautiful Easter bonnet. Either use an old hat and jazz it up with fluffy bunnies and eggs or buy a cheap plastic bowler hat (or other hat) from a joke shop or fancy dress shop and decorate that. For a simple but very effective look (which won prizes in our family!), simply stick individual liquorice allsorts all over the hat. Perhaps arrange them in colour or shape. They stick best with either adhesive foam pads or glue dots.
Push a pin through a raw egg, top and bottom (make the hole slightly bigger for wider part of the egg) and place a saucer or small plate underneath. Gently blow (don’t suck!) the raw egg out and then once the whole shell is empty the kids can carefully paint them and write the child’s name on it. How about a slick of varnish for extra shine at the end? Then you can hide all their eggs in the garden and the winner gets to choose their favourite dinner!
Easter thumb prints are good fun. Get a sheet of white paper, some yellow poster paint and let the kids dip their thumb into the paint and press straight onto the paper. Add some eyes, a beak and feet and hey presto! A chick. Make it 3D by using wiggly eyes and orange felt for the beaks. Use this to make Easter cards, wrapping paper and change the design from a chick to a bunny by swapping to brown poster paint.
Make an Easter egg cake for afternoon tea (this time we will allow a little chocolate!) Make a simple chocolate sponge and once it’s been iced, let the kids go mad and decorate it with mini eggs, chocolate buttons, malteasers, anything they want to stick on. It will go down a treat with a cup of tea.
Make a Paper plate Easter bunny
You will need:
One large and one small paper plate
pink paper
pipe cleaners or yarn
crayons
scissors
glue
Glue the small paper plate on top of the large paper plate to form the bunny's body and head. Cut two bunny ears out of the pink paper and glue them to the head. Use markers to draw the bunny's eyes, nose and mouth. Glue on some pipe cleaners and yarn for whiskers.
